I apologize. I had some reservations making that post. I should have gone with my gut feeling and just let it be!!

So, just to see if I can be wrong again, the UIL alignment will now be released by:

Monday April 16, 2012
(according to the aforementioned source)

Please do not call/text/email/fax/telegraph/yell/send smoke signals/voodoo doll me when Monday afternoon is rolling around and you see nothing!! If it has not been released by then, I will make up some for everyone's viewing pleasure!!

I have no knowledge of this and can't wait to see it, but I would imagine they'll be pretty close to the tennis alignments as most of these schools also offer wrestling:

What do you think of these for wrestling?

OK, as promised, and I like to keep my promises unlike some people I know, the following is but a glimpse of the new alignment for the 2012-2013 season:
• This is for the fastest growing sport in the state of Texas
• This is for both men and women
• This is for the 5A & 4A (and below) classifications
• This is full-contact, action packed, and thrilling sport……

…….without further ado, I give you a sneak peak at some of the new alignment for………QUIDDITCH!!

Yes, I said it, Quidditch. The UIL has fast-tracked this sport as its newest sport, complete with district, region, and state playoffs! This sport

You don’t think I am serious? Check this link out:
http://www.the33tv.com/news/kdaf-texas- ... 9448.story

As it looks like right now, our student-athletes might have a better shot at a Quidditch scholarship from a Texas university than a wrestling one:
http://www.dailytexanonline.com/univers ... e-star-cup

When was the last time during March Madness did you see a wrestling tournament promoted? I am changing to Quidditch!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UfPij5ABdo&noredirect=1

So here are a couple of “sneak peaks” of some of the districts that will be drawn up for our first ever, UIL Quidditch championship:
From 5A, take a look at this district makeup:
Allen (Coach Best is currently training his army of 6 year old muggles to dominate this district)
Dallas Jesuit (fear the private school kid in Quidditch)
Plano (5K some odd kids has to have a JK Rowling following somewhere!)
Plano East (Coach Koebke pulls out the Hawaiian Quidditch shirt for the finals and gets mistaken for the snitch!!)
Plano West (Coach Smith finds a way to knock out Coach Best’s teeth with an errant broom toss!)
Richardson
Richardson Berkner
Richardson Lake Highlands (Coach Grieder, not to be outdone, decides to have a couple more sons, and quickly throws a broom in each of their bassinets!)

Here is another sneak peak at a 4A district:

Frisco
Frisco Centennial (Coach Eaton petitions his district to change his team colors to yellowish gold, so they can permanently be called the “snitches”—since he knows all UIL and tells all!)
Frisco Heritage
Frisco Liberty
Frisco Lone Star
Frisco Wakeland
Frisco School #7 (
Highland Park (Proud school finally finds a district that has “whimpier white boys” than it does. Plus, they can afford real flying brooms!!)

Well, as I said, I told you I would provide my version of the alignment!! So what do you think?

I do have some good information for you concerning the release of the wrestling alignment:
It is now in the “final stages” of being completed. It will be released after the following sports/activities have had their new alignments released:
Soccer (Sport isn’t even over and has new alignment??)

Baseball (See above for soccer)

Softball (see above for Baseball)

Track & Field (see above for Softball)

Bowling (I hear they are just finalizing the negotiation rights to sell beer in the bowling alley bars at district events? Pabst is the front-runner)

Chess (Houston Region is going to be tough to beat!!)

UIL Academics (I think I heard Friendswood might be going 5A, oh boy!!)

AcDec (the Region 2-4A meet to be held in Frisco has been rumored to be moved to the American Airlines Center!! Sorry Mavs, you will have to play that game at SMU!)

AcOct (seriously??? Can we just call this JV AcDec??)

One Act Play (I heard Zones 1 & 2 are going to be combined and only the top two acts get out---oh that so sucks for us, we are the third best in the state and won’t even get out of our Zone!!)

I will sign on again next week to go over the Chess districts other than the Houston area so please stay tuned………………………………………………………
