I can understand Herman being ranked ahead at Goodwin at 120 because they have never met head to head but Goodwin beat Akers pretty convincingly this summer at a freestyle event. He also just placed 4th at Super 32 beating 2 top 15 nationally ranked wrestlers along the way and capped the weekend by signing with North Carolina State.

both great wrestlers with a huge future and would love to see the match. but if your going off national accomplishments... herman is a 3 time virginia beach national champion. goodwin wrestled an amazing tournament and should get a lot of cred. but i think herman should be number 1 until the match happens. its hard to put a 3 time national champion/3 time state champion in the number 2 spot. hope the match happens!

You may have to wait a couple of years, then travel to the East Coast for an ACC dual meet to see that match up. Did I see Hermann is going to UVA and Goodwin to NCSU in previous posts.

Traditionally the rankings are updated during Christmas Break. My guess is that the Region 3 State Duals Qualifier could have some interesting match-ups, so maybe the first week of Jan??

When it is all said and done, (and there is a lot of wrestling left to do ) If we can get the #1 ranked wrestler at every weight to commit to our national team, this is the year we could put Texas on the map at the Junior level. Hopefully the highly ranked kids on this list have higher aspirations than the state of Texas. There are some special kids on this list.
