Also, several of the kids will end out at weights different than they wrestled in the state freestyle/greco tournament. We want to put a team together to win, and there is lots of matches for the kids. 14 between freestyle and greco vs quality opposition. And we are working on a freestyle 2 team which means 21 matches per weight class. Having two quality kids at a weight class is a very good thing.

JMichael,
Overstreet won Greco at 145, Bass Won Greco at 152, and Bradford won it at 160. I understand that Pierce may drop to 160 to compete on the national level, however Nickal is a Cadet and the other wrestlers are Juniors. Again as for who would beat who I will leave it to the mat. At this point I dont believe Aaron plans on wrestling Nationals

Even though Nickal is a cadet, I was under the impression that he would challenge for the JR spot, and in my opinion Walker couldn't beat Bass at 152, or Nickal or Bradford at 160 nor could he beat Pierce at 170 (if he chooses to stay there), and he might beat Overstreet at 145. I understand he had a good tounament in Dec. but doesn't look like he has been doing any Greco or Free since then...maybe I am wrong. And it is hard to leave it on the mat when Walker doesn't get on the mat (that I have seen) this free/greco season. I wish he would, I would like to watch him wrestle again.
I just think it is probably best for Walker (not for Team Texas) that he doesn't go to JR Duals. IMO

I do think coach wilson has done a great job promoting the duals and getting the best teams to represent Texas. It will be fun to watch this year and see how they do. I wish I was going to watch them live. Thanks to everyone that has been working so hard this year to put Texas on the wrestling map. Keep working hard and good things will happen.

I don't care about the wrestle offs. I want the best kids on Team Texas, and this is why we want Walker on the team. We want a cohesive team, not a team that bickers over who beat who when. Team Texas will rise far above the the moral character that some show on this forum. I have been talking to several people about team Texas including the Walkers. I have told them to ignore the comments on this site as for all we know the negative posters are 10 year olds.

Why do some cut Aaron so short? Jealously? Stupidity? Walker has legit talent and has beat quality wrestlers the last two seasons at state. I would love to see Aaron on Team Texas and im sure the coaches and other wrestlers would love it to. It is about putting our best team on the mat right?

I have probably missed a few and may have the wrong weights, but it will all work itself out. We need to get those $200 deposits in so we can order gear. This is a lot of kids. We can't just order gear because you say you are going to be on the team. The true team will form when the money starts coming in, but this is a pretty exciting list, and the price has never been lower. $450 is a great value!

Coach Wilson,
My son is on your list above, at 160; he is only wrestling Greco this year. We talked with you after Greco at State.
Please let me know if he will be on the team and get matches and where to send the deposit and I will get it in the mail.

Where do we send the deposit and who do we make the check payable to?

Congrats to Aaron Walker and best of luck at the Citadel. It's a tough schoolwith great wrestling program. My brother wrestled their in the 1980's. The first few weeks are a challenge hang tough and it will get better.
