Based on my logic using number values, I will give the 1st place team 8 points, 2nd place team 7 points on down to the 8th place team getting 1 point to determine the best, overall states/teams at the Cadet Duals. The combined totals of Greco-Roman placing plus Freestyle placing is what I will use to determine this list.

Team GR+FS= 16 possible points
Illinois - 8 + 7 = 15 points
New Jersey - 6+4 = 10 points
Michigan - 4 + 6 = 10 points
Minnesota - 7+2 = 9 points
Pennsylvania - 0+8 = 8 points
Texas - 3+3 = 6 points
Oklahoma - 0+5 = 5 points
Florida - 5 + 0 = 5 points
Missouri - 2+1 = 3 points
Idaho - 1+0 = 1 point

So, based on my calculations, Texas sent the 6th best team to this event and had the best overall showing of all of our Southern Plains counterparts. Of course, only three other teams had higher finishes in both styles than TX.

Congrats Texas and all those supporting these wrestlers, our state program, our regional areas, our high school programs and our local clubs. This great showing is indicative of everyone's support.

I want to congratulate all the young men who represted Team Texas at the Cadet duals. Thanks to coach Nikal, Gordon and Cook for all your hard work and dedication in preparing these men. I would also like to thank Coach Turner from Vista Ridge for allowing the team to practice at your school. A big thanks goes out to the host families for opening up your homes, especially the Conner family who took in my son. Furtheremore, I would like to thank Linda who provided the boys with snacks and drinks during the tournament and all the parents that were present and cheered on the boys. My son had a great time in Daytona Beach, he got to wrestle some of the best kids in the country and along the way made some new friends.
